Maui wedding Locations

Friday, April 25th, 2008

On a beautiful tropical paradise like Maui, choosing a location is difficult because we have so many choices! All of Hawaii’s beaches are public and access to them is usually very good. The only drawback to a public beach wedding is other people and the slim possibility of rain. Fortunately there are dozens of private locations to choose from for any budget. From 4 star hotels to oceanfront private estates, Maui offers some of the finest destination wedding locations on the planet.

Maui Family Portrait Photography

“Can we get the disk before we leave?” is a common question I hear when booking a family photo session with a client on vacation. It’s a legitimate question. We have become accustomed to half hour photo labs and drive thru food, why should we have to wait for our photography? Well, one reason is the time it takes to do a decent edit on the RAW files (what, your photographer isn’t shooting in RAW?). The other reason is that your Maui photographer should be busy, otherwise he’s got another job doing something not related to photography. Anyone can shoot 50 images in jpeg format, dump them on a disk and deliver them to your hotel room. The only problem with that is the images will no be color corrected, no photoshop filters or effects will be added and the images will not have that professional look you paid for. Take your time. You will be rewarded.

Maui Wedding Flowers

Monday, April 21st, 2008

The tropical environment on Maui produces a rainbow mix of flowers. The scent of Pikake around the brides neck exudes the essence of hawaii. A Maile lei, once reserved only for the Alii, is worn by the groom, often entwined with a scented flower. The bride’s bouquet can be as subtle or dynamic as she wishes, incorporating both traditional flowers such as roses or the exotic touch of Bird of Paradise or Protea. Whatever you choose for your wedding flowers, be sure you are working with a professional florist. Marry Me Maui Wedding Planners works with a professional, custom florist who can create a work of art from flowers to your specifications.

The Kaanapali Beach Wedding

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

Locations are important for a shoot. No location is more spectacular than the hotels on Kaanapali beach in Maui! The Westin Maui is one of the most lushly landscaped and opulent digs in Kaanapali and we have been lucky enough to shoot weddings there. Regina and Rasheed were fun to work with, relaxed and showed real Aloha during their wedding in April. Thanks for letting us capture the moments.
