Maui Family Portraits
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010Maui Wedding and Commercial Photography
Sunday, August 8th, 2010We get to do the occasional local wedding here in Maui and it’s always fun to hook up with one of Maui’s ohana and get some great imagery. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of spending a few hours with Kahikolu and Kimo who married in a small church here in Wailuku and then had a lavish lunch reception at the King Kamehameha golf course (The poke was ono). It was your typical Maui Wedding Day - Warm, bright and breezy. So breezy, that we almost lost a flex fill but one of the guests was kind enough to chase it down the hill. Mahalo! Here’s a couple of images from the event.
Hawaii Wedding Photography
Thursday, July 29th, 2010As professional Maui Photographers, we have the honor of photographing folks from all across the globe. While we love ALL our clients, some of them sparkle and shine like no others. Such was the case with Christelle and Jefferey. A couple, obviously very much in love with a beautiful family in tow, we were privileged to photograph their wedding at Kapalua Bay on July 28, 2010. Rev. Pia did his usual outstanding job and the evening was perfect! Some pictures of the event follow.

Monday, July 19th, 2010April is always a busy month here on the valley isle; the weather is beautiful, cool crisp nights and bright sunny days that hover around 80 degrees. Perfect for ocean kayaking or a round of drinks at the pool bar. Rochelle and Hedley decided April was a good month to tie the knot so they talked a group of their friends and family, some of them from down under, into taking the plane ride out to paradise. I’m sure they didn’t have to twist their arms! The wedding was beautiful and the weather cooperated with us. After a bright blue wedding we finished with a gorgeous Makena Sunset. Maui Weddings
Saturday, June 26th, 2010As wedding photographers in Maui, we have had the privilege to photograph people from all around the world at some of the most pristine beaches on the planet. Occasionally we are blessed with a passing shower but they are generally brief and tend to cool things down. Most people are unaware of how dry Maui really is. Maui Rainfall averages vary from over 300 inches per year at Puu Kukui in the west Maui mountains, to 12 inches per year in the Kihei/Wailea/Makena area. Most of the beaches we use fall in the 12 inch category, so rain is rare. I’m posting a shot of a wedding we did at Kapalua Bay in April, you can see how beautiful the weather was. This representation is the norm rather than the exception.
Maui Wedding Photography, Destination Weddings
Friday, June 11th, 2010A Maui destination wedding is one of the best ways to tie the knot. Maui has a large pool of professional photographers, awesome venues, reliable wedding planners and some of the best catering on earth. We were fortunate to have the chance to photograph Candice and Josh at the Haiku Mill, a rustic and beautiful wedding venue on the north shore of Maui. I’m posting a few shots from the wedding from inside the guest house where brides often get ready, as well as some shots from the outside. We have photographed Maui weddings at every major venue in Maui so if you’re looking for a private venue, call us for the photography, we’re well acquainted with the particulars of every location.
Maui Wedding, Kapalua Bay
Sunday, June 6th, 2010On June 3rd, 2010 we had the pleasure of photographing Mary Kate and Dan at a morning ceremony on Kapalua Bay Beach. The morning was cool, as is usual and a little cloudy which softens the light and acts like a huge softbox. The wedding was intimate, about 15 guests in attendance and was beautiful.
What about the sunset, you say? Simple, Mary Kate booked us for the next evening, in a different location, to do those shots. The morning wedding gives the family a free day to celebrate and the evening sunset session the next day gives the couple a chance to rest and go at it again.
Mahalo Mary Kate and Dan. Much happiness and Aloha.

It’s always a treat to take a group of people who have never been here before and bring them to one of Maui’s pristine beaches for a heartfelt wedding ceremony and photo shoot after. It’s been a truly wonderful experience meeting people from all around the world and getting the positive feedback we so often get.

Maui Wedding Photography
Thursday, February 11th, 2010

We are incredibly lucky to not only live in Maui but to make our living doing what we enjoy most: Photography. Maui presents her own unique challenges and opportunities. While sunsets and scenery are exquisite here, getting that perfect shot is very difficult. The sun is very bright at these latitudes and cloud cover is not the norm. We also have a steady trade wind to deal with which can wreak havoc with the brides hair and why we recommend a professional hair stylist prepare you. As for the sun, we always bring a competent assistant and employ a variety of reflectors, diffusers and off camera flashes to balance the light. SInce we have been doing this for many years, we have a pretty good routine and can move fast enough to catch the light while remaining flexible enough to be creative. Please be sure to check out our portfolio of Maui Wedding Photography. These are real people, not models, even though they look like it. That’s the magic of photography we love so much.
Maui photography packages
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010
Lately, we’ve been getting inquiries regarding the number of images included in our packages. Professional photographers generally know how many exceptional images they can coax out of their clients. Unless you’re a professional model and you are traveling with a group of models, there is a limit as to the amount of exceptional imagery you can expect, and if exceptional imagery isn’t what you’re after, why hire a professional? If you’re hiring us for your Maui wedding, you’ve obviously looked at our website and like what you see. During one of our Maui Weddings, we will shoot hundreds or thousands of images. Being the professional we are, we set the number of images the client will receive based on the time spent at the event. We edit the best images for our client and give them a professional package. There’s a lot of photographers out there who are promising anything just to book a gig. They’ll give you ALL the images they shoot during your wedding. Sounds good doesn’t it? Well, they won’t be optimized in photoshop, they won’t be shot in uncompressed RAW format, chances are the photographer you’re hiring isn’t a professional (a person who earns 100% of his money from his business) because professionals won’t hand out their less than stellar product to a client. More isn’t always better.
