Maui Trash the Dress
Tuesday, December 20th, 2011Maui Wedding Locations
Friday, October 21st, 2011Maui has a pretty fair diversity of churches for your wedding. Old cathedral style Catholic churches in the heart of Lahaina Town or a small lava rock christian church near the ocean in Makena, these places or worship offer an alternative to a beach or resort wedding. All these churches can be rented during the week or on Saturday and many of them have been around for 100 years or more, built during the plantation days of Maui. A rich history and pastors filled with the spirit of Aloha await our wedding couples who desire a more traditional setting for their vows while still enjoying the amenities Maui has to offer. Imagine snorkeling or surfing for a couple of hours in the morning, hitting the hotel room for a quick shower, changing into your wedding outfit and having one of our limo drivers take you to an historic church in Makena where you can exchange vows and begin a beautiful life together. We can help you find these churches as we are also a full service Maui Wedding Planner in addition to being world class Maui wedding photographers.
From Kapalua to Kula, there are dozens of historic friendly congregations who welcome world travelers to have their nuptials. We can formulate an itinerary for you with suggestions on where to eat afterward without having to drive across the whole island.
So if a church wedding is what you’re looking for, Maui is a great spot to fulfill that dream.
Maui Wedding Photography
Friday, September 9th, 2011On a planet of 6 billion it should be extremely difficult to find a secluded pristine tropical beach 3 minutes from a world class resort hotel and have an intimate wedding ceremony. But it isn’t. As a professional photographer in Maui who has photographed thousands of brides over the last 3 decades, we know where to go to get those killer images you want for your wedding day. Belgica and Rob were two of the 6 billion who found out how ridiculously easy it was. We had a very intimate ceremony in June at one of those pristine beaches I mentioned. There was nobody there that day. While we can’t guarantee you’ll have the beach to yourself, we can certainly direct you to the places where it might at least be possible. So if you’re looking for personalized, Maui Wedding Planners or just killer images, contact the professional Maui Wedding Photographers; Joe D’Alessandro Photography Inc., Maui. We’re available for your wedding, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Maui Wedding Photography in Makena
Wednesday, May 18th, 2011We had another stellar day in Makena with Heather and Matt on the rolling green hills above Maui’s stunning south shore. This was obviously a couple who are very much in love. They brought their sunny dispositions along to match the sunny weather and had a great wedding ceremony. We were able to capture some sweet images that Heather and Matt will cherish for a lifetime.
Maui Wedding Photography – Details, Details, Details…
Monday, March 21st, 2011Part of the fun of shooting Maui Weddings is getting to photograph the details: Rings, Cakes, Flowers, etc. There are so many talented professionals living on Maui and creating works of art for their couples that it is a pleasure to be able to photograph their achievements. Our clients like the images also because most of the details are gone after the wedding except for the rings. The photographic representation is all they have left. This is why it’s important to choose a professional photographer to capture the essence of your Maui Wedding. While the details are important, be sure your photographer’s portfolio contains a wide variety of images. These detail shots were taken from several different weddings over the last year, some were beach weddings and others were at private estates. You are only limited by your imagination.

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011The occasional rainstorm is inevitable even in Maui. While the resort areas only get as much rain as Santa Fe New Mexico, when you work outdoors as much as we do, getting rained on is inevitable. Fortunately it doesn’t happen very often but when it does we have to improvise. Normally we pull out the umbrellas if we’re doing a beach wedding but in Helga and Cecil’s case, their condo had a huge lanai which was large enough for their entire entourage along with Vance, Tarvin and myself. Helga and Cecil never missed a beat and had a great time. We got some great shots and managed to stay dry! Thanks Helga and Cecil for showing such grace under pressure!

Maui Wedding and Commercial Photography
Sunday, August 8th, 2010We get to do the occasional local wedding here in Maui and it’s always fun to hook up with one of Maui’s ohana and get some great imagery. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of spending a few hours with Kahikolu and Kimo who married in a small church here in Wailuku and then had a lavish lunch reception at the King Kamehameha golf course (The poke was ono). It was your typical Maui Wedding Day - Warm, bright and breezy. So breezy, that we almost lost a flex fill but one of the guests was kind enough to chase it down the hill. Mahalo! Here’s a couple of images from the event.
Hawaii Wedding Photography
Thursday, July 29th, 2010As professional Maui Photographers, we have the honor of photographing folks from all across the globe. While we love ALL our clients, some of them sparkle and shine like no others. Such was the case with Christelle and Jefferey. A couple, obviously very much in love with a beautiful family in tow, we were privileged to photograph their wedding at Kapalua Bay on July 28, 2010. Rev. Pia did his usual outstanding job and the evening was perfect! Some pictures of the event follow.

Monday, July 19th, 2010April is always a busy month here on the valley isle; the weather is beautiful, cool crisp nights and bright sunny days that hover around 80 degrees. Perfect for ocean kayaking or a round of drinks at the pool bar. Rochelle and Hedley decided April was a good month to tie the knot so they talked a group of their friends and family, some of them from down under, into taking the plane ride out to paradise. I’m sure they didn’t have to twist their arms! The wedding was beautiful and the weather cooperated with us. After a bright blue wedding we finished with a gorgeous Makena Sunset.
