South of Kihei a few hundred years past the snorkel shops, resorts, minit-stops, and tourist traps lies Makena: A pristine and bountiful area of beautiful blue ocean bordered by wilderness which used to be home to thousands of indigenous Hawaiians and is now populated by just a few lucky souls and a couple of food trucks. Fortunately for us in the Maui wedding industry there's a little beach house, just past the lava rock wall at Makena Cove, that serves as a spectacularly beautiful Maui wedding venue. Arabelle, owner of Ancient Hawaiian Weddings, secured this venue for a private morning ceremony for her clients who chose us to photograph their nuptials. After the ceremony we took a little trip to Palauea beach and shot a few more images. The results were spectacular.
